Learning on the go? Listen to a podcast.

As the economy slowly reopens and we find ourselves slowly integrating ourselves back into society by going back to work and being able to freely go outside, our day also slowly gets cramped as we become more and more busy.

As an avid reader myself, I’m always looking to find time to read. And as someone who also loves to learn new things but does not have the time to do so, I’m also looking for ways to make time for learning as well. So how do I do this considering that we’re becoming more busy?

Well, a lot of you probably do know about this or some have heard of it but haven’t tried it yet.

Just listen to podcasts. Podcasts have been growing in popularity a few years back but it has blown up recently with numerous celebrities and prominent people hosting their own podcasts.

With the pandemic pushing more content online and people realizing how easy it is to make podcasts as opposed to other types of content, we have a lot more variety with the type of podcasts we can listen to. Much like there’s a book for everything, there’s also a podcast dedicated to certain types of topics. There’s cooking, gaming, mindfulness meditation, stoicism and a lot more.

Much like books, podcasts are also a mountain of information except we hear it instead of reading it. Podcasts are also less filtered and more spontaneous as opposed to books because books are edited before being published. However, podcasts are live so anything you say is immediately broadcasted to the public.

If you don’t have time to read books or watch videos to learn the newest recipes, you can just listen to a podcast. You’re able to drive, work, walk while learning a new skill or even a new language as there are also podcasts dedicated to teaching languages

I’m sure many of you also have some sort of subscription to an audio streaming service like Spotify. Spotify hosts a number of podcasts ranging from various topics and much like songs, you can also curate and add them to your playlists. If you’re more of a visual person, there are also podcasts that are uploaded on platforms like Youtube so you can see your favorite hosts like Joe Rogan. Joe Rogan’s podcast called the Joe Rogan Experience which is arguably the number one podcast in the world has a wide variety of guests such as actor Robert Downey Jr., billionaire Elon Musk, magician David Blaine, astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson and many more. All of which have shared their knowledge in their areas of expertise in Joe’s podcast.

And if you’re someone who wants to share knowledge to the world, you can also host and upload your own podcast to platforms like Spotify.

Podcasts are a goldmine of entertainment and information so try listening to one! You never know, maybe your favorite celebrity is already hosting their own podcast!
